Updates on various and sundry issues. Webmaster out of town: There will be no updates to the site from 18 through 27 August. Range Rules: The new Range Rules & SOPs are posted at the Range Rules & SOPs page, here. Note recent changes as of 6 August. There has been an extraordinary amount of discussion on this subject. In spite of some of our colorful responses, Joe, Bill, and I really do appreciate the thoughtful, reasonable, and common-sense comments we received. For a while, we were simply overwhelmed with all the e-mails. Based on everyone's comments, we think we have reached a reasonable compromise. The supporting range-specific, scheduling, and youth-group SOP's are being written. We are working very hard to come up with simple (KISS), common sense standard practices that are not directed toward the lowest-common-denominator types among us. Work Days: Ideas on workday credits and penalties have been shelved. We had outstanding turnout at the August meeting, and commitments from several members to get the needed painting done. Bath House: By vote of the membership the original motion has been rescinded, i.e., no bath house. Constitution Update Committee: Based on Milt's motion and membership vote, a new committee has been formed. The committee with be headed by Lawyer Scott P. Members include three board members: Barney, Brian, and Johnnie; and three members-at-large: Tom K., Bobby M., and Jerry S. Wobble Trap: The membership voted to approve the purchase of a Laporte wobble trap for the Informal Shotgun Range. Rich K. and Don G. have agreed to handle the purchase. Fred G. has volunteered to get the necessary shelter and base built. We may expect this all to be done in November. Next Monthly Meeting is Saturday, 11 September. Workday, 9:00am. Tentative Meeting Agenda: Pledge of Allegiance, 10:00am. August Meeting Minutes. Treasurer's report. Project updates. Status of needed maintenance items, particularly painting.
